Outreach to Service Providers

Service providers have demonstrated a tremendous commitment to the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program. By tracking referrals to the various resources at events, the Yellow Ribbon team can gain a better understanding of the need for different service providers at particular types of events. It is important for the Yellow Ribbon coordinator to discover the needs of each unit to ensure the appropriate service providers are present.

Community Awareness about the Military Children

The Military children who live in the community do not have the same degree of support as children living on a Military base. They do not live in a community where there is a shared support system and an awareness of their needs. For this reason it is especially important to assist the community in enhancing awareness of the specific needs of Military children throughout the deployment cycle.

This presentation highlights a few ways the stress of having a Family Member deployed can manifest itself in a child and how community members can help the child.
