Outreach to Service Members

Outreach to Service Members Prior to Events

Prior to events, it is the goal of the Yellow Ribbon staff to increase interest in events for the Service Members. Through letters of instruction and interesting invitations, Service Members can gain a glimpse into what to expect at events, and can begin to formulate what information they are interested in pursuing while at an event.

    Invitation with Contacts Template

The Invitation with Contacts template is a unique invitation for Service Members because it provides contact information for the service providers that will be available during an event. It is also a good example of a program being culturally aware of the needs of their Service Members and Families, by providing critical information in Spanish. This allows the Service Member to be proactive in connecting with the necessary service providers prior to the event.

Outreach to Service Members While at Events

While at events, Service Members will receive a great deal of information. One way to help them pay attention to the key messages is by providing a tips booklet that includes all the details that are being presented. This takes the pressure off Service Members to remember or to write it all down. Instead, it allows them to absorb the highlights and key messages.
