Welcome to the National Challenge Institute e-learning lesson on Target Audiences: Youth, Parents, Organizations, and Institutions. When communicating with various target audiences during recruitment, it's important to consider the make-up of each audience and tailor your message accordingly. At the end of this lesson, you will be able to recall types of target audiences, identify unique characteristics of target audiences, and recall strategies to customize messages for and attract the interest of specific target audiences.

Marketing to target audiences requires a tailored approach.

The most common target audiences that programs seek for cadet referrals are youth, parents, organizations, and institutions. Marketing the program effectively to each of these groups requires a tailored approach. In this lesson, you will study various target audiences ideal for promoting the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program and recruiting qualified applicants. You will explore strategies for customizing and fine-tuning your program’s message to attract the interest of each audience and clearly communicate what each group should do to act on its interest.
